holy CHRIST it:s about 47'C in here. i am positively dying! bought a shirt today that says MUSES and underneath it reads *Al is selling us to nature.* i:d like to know what the price is, and what nature is gonna to do when she owns us. but i think the real message here is BEWARE OF PEOPLE NAMED AL.
forgot my recharger for my Ktai at work yesterday and consequently freaked today. two daze without technology. oh god help me i:m becoming such a zuppie. went to the store where i bought it and the dude just plugged it in for me and told me to come back in half an hour. for some reason i think that:s the sweetest thing in the world! awww... and he:s nice to look at too... maybe i:ll charge up there more often. actually turns out that:s the cheap place for developing so looks like i:ll be seeing more of my lil pinstripe hottie.
i STILL feel hungover from two nights ago. Friday was Dan:s last day @ NOVA so we headed to the Black Ship for nomihodai, and then to Doremifa for some singing... as a consequence i now sound like a manwich and when i woke up and tried to sing the Hello Song for Louise i think i shattered a couple glasses. anywho, twas a big group of us, and a newcomer, Taka, who just started working at NOVA. he:s as cool as hell... but then again isn:t everyone who hangs out with us? [InSERT i:m DYING of cramps right now. it feels like there:s a small child of Hell origin trying to burst forth through my intestinal wall. just thot you:d like to know] we started to walk home after but then Louise and i got sidetracked by the sounds of raggae coming form a literal hole in teh wall. so in we went to the tiniest bar ever and jammed out to Dre and Snoop and some cool reggaeish beats. there were only 6 other people in there and oh dear oh dear... i don:t know how we got so mangled but i lacked total ability to form any simple thought. louise was behind the bar pouring drinks and i was dancing up on the bar.. oh the shame! and for some wild reason, the 4 girls that were in there thought we were the best dancers ever! we danced and then sat to have a drink and they were all like girls! when are you going to dance again? dance dance! and they kept watching our every move, which made it even more hilarious and we dacned just even more redickulous. if you:ve ever seen me dance then you know what a *fabulous* dancer i am... basically i:m a compilation of mockeries from all the other dacners i see. so, for a brief moment in time, Louise and i WERE Charisma Man...
then i guess we stumbled home... tried to board there.. stopped at 7's as per usual drunken stupor but i don:t even remember. i just remember walking to it, and then suddenly i:m outside again witha salmon filled onigiri in my hand and a chicken skewer in my backpack. amazingly enough i had the bestest day ever at work the next day on saturday and it:s today that i feel like crud.
so... promised to write about Okinawa. it was fucking LUSH! it was so beautiful there, although it was cloudy the two daze we were there, we still enjoyed taking a ferry to nearby Tokashiki island, and lying on the white sand beach looking out at the turquoise blue waters. the first day we got there we toured around the strip, and then went for a killer lobster dinner for Cam:s birthday. it was korean BBQ style, with the grill at your table and the chef prepares the feast before your eyes. he made lobster with mushrooms, scallops, and a potato and green pepper mixture. of course it wouldn:t be a complete meal in Japan without a bowl of white rice. and we also had the most delicious curry soup! i know i know, curry soup sounds wretch, but it was actually quite tasty... oooooooh i can:t wait to go to India! yes and then we got free crab legs and free ice cream (Cam:s had strawberry sauce and a candle on it). it was the best dinner, i have never tasted lobster so fresh in my life! and the drinks were so adorable, all these slushy mixtures of island punch and pineapple and orange.. we got to keep the glasses so now i have a couple tropical souvenirs of the weekend. sitting at our booth were three other gaijins (of course they put us all together...) who were hella cool. the guy was a NOVA teacher who has lived in Naha for a coupla years, and his mom and sister who were on a golf vacation in from Calgary. he hooked us up with directions to THEE COOLEST rasta place i:ve ever been to. we walked right past it actually, it:s like a secret lil door that you can:t tell unless you run your hands along the wall. and even then when you open it it:s only three feet tall. very hobbit-esque! the inside was like a cement bunker, but had so much character. we sat in this booth that was all draped with black sheer sheets, and lit only by the candle on teh table and a couple of coloured light bulbs up above. it was just soooo chillin. if i lived there i would totally make it my hangout after work on a regular basis. i tried Japanese hemp beer, which was quite tasty except for the mouthful of sediment i had at the end... afterwards we ended up at this bar that was actually like a truck trailer. again, very cool. the guy had a lil class act going on, with some beats and some black lights out the front. and besdie it were a coupla tables to sit down and drink outside. Gina and I tried at awamori, Okinawa sake. gesus that shit is strong. i am just not a sake kinda girl. probably because i prefer to inhale my drinks and get plastered, rather than sit and sip.
what else... oh the scary dorm. uugh, i don:t even wanna talk about it. were it not for the cloud print curtains on the beds it would have been a completely bad place. twas only for one night though.. and gina slept on the couch because there weren:t enough beds... which makes me question the point of a RESERVATION fully. the owner wanted one of us to sleep in the men:s room... like are you bloody insane? ya, sure, pop me into a room full of guys. better yet, make sure tehy:re all japanese so i:m even more completely scared. no thanks! we rock paper scissored for the couch... of course.. i LOVE that game! when we first arrived we had a tough time finding the place but evntually got there.. but the owner had left. so we got changed and all ready to hit the beach when she came back with a huge platter of korean pancakes. *present for you!* she said... so we sat and ate and watched the sun disappear, still in our bathing suits... oh it was sad! but it worked out for the better cuz that NVOA teacher told us about Tokashiki...
well i gotta hit up the grocery store... a task which i:ve successfully avoided all day. oh my god, am igetting boring? all my things sound so lifeless on here. ah well, just chalk up my deteriorating writing skills to my lack of english media exposure...
oh! bot a bike today! it:s silver and is she ever slick! (ok that was *SO* Germain...) whatta a beaut! 23 skidoo! her name is Clear Rainbow, but as Sarah has the same one and we need to distinguish between them i have decorated mine with pink hearts (because what 23yr old wouldn:t?) and have named her Love Rainbow. we spent all day together! i needed some bonding time with my new bike, ya know?
well, off to the wildness of the grocery store... please please PLEASE Universe, don:t let them give me anymore gaijin stares tonite cuz i:m NOT in the mood!
