thank you, oh 25th of the month, for safely delivering a paycheque into my acct. another month, another lesson NOT learned about the value of a yen. i'm so lucky to have friends that buy me lunch.
in other news, my appt is fully vamped up with the latest addition of a couch, stereo, desk, and floor lamp. if i ignore the fact i can hear my neighbours' every move, i might even believe i'm not in japan! it's so nice to come home and lie on the couch. and have somewhere to eat. i mean, i love the floor, but sometimes you wanna be just a lil bit higher when you eat, ne.
scott and i fully hauled his couch to my place, a good ten blocks. the great part was that when people stared at us, at least they had a good reason. i cut up my thumb on the couch, and i'd like to whine about it just because everything in my life i've been so fortunate to have, and if that's the only thing i have to whine about, it just reflects the goodness of this life i lead. so i have a zillion tiny cuts on my inner part of my thumb, and they sting, and i got OJ from a fresh orange in them today at lunch and it was extremely fun to endure that.
i have found the beauty within perfectly round and even sized sunkist oranges. my only concern is that the genetically modified genes i'm ingesting aren't going to radically alter my DNA for the next 100 years. there's just something so strange about eating perfectly round fruit. cuz i know that not every orange on every tree could be the exact same size and shape without someone having gotten in there and messed this up a bit.
signing off to the world they call rest, but one i call fitful thrashing and waking up in panic mode. give me the strength to persevere through an hour of commuting tomorrow.
