at the request, i am updating my page one last time before i leave and don:t return until the year of the monkey!

last night was just fabulous. it was the most interesting xmas to date i must say. before leaving work i dropped off some christmas sweets to the hot guys in the clothing shop downstairs cuz well, i say konnichiwa to them every day and wave to them n i wanted to do something nice for xmas. they were so happy! one actually ran unto the street n raised his arms up like *yes!* heeehee. i even wrote Merry Christmas! from Danielle in Katakana on it. then after work i went to kylies, meeting jayne, louise, and sarah there. we had a feast of ginormous proportions- three kinds of cheese, my homemade salsa (moma tracz:s original recipe was a smash hit!) breads and wine started us off. from there we dug into three different kinds of potatoes, roast chicken, an avocado and walnut salad, sweet potatoes, roasted pumpkin with brown sugar, and homemade gravy that kylie prepared. it was wicked! we threw caution to all the women:s magazines out there telling you to take a tiny bit of everything and wait 20 minutes when you start to get full. nuh-uh! buttons were definitely popped after dinner. that:s the beauty of hanging out with the girls, there:s no shame in undoing the top button from our gluttonous persuasions. for dessert we had sarah:s homemade fifteen:s- caramel and peanut butter and chocolate squares, my cocunut ice milk, and jayne brought a stunningly large choclate christmas cake.

is your mouth watering yet?

after dinner we digested whilst opening the secret santa-san prezzies. we all got really nice things from each other. Jayne was my santa-san, er should i saw santa-chan, and she gave me some wonderful incense and a nice holder, and some really cool tea with sugar that are both shaped like tiny hearts! louise gave me a lil prezzie too- cranberry lip gloss from the body shop in mito!! yesterday was a day without lipgloss for me, and pretty much it was like a day in hell. i:ll be the first to admit, i am a lip gloss whore.

i got home and FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY bought a brastel calling card so i called my lovely Natasha in thunder bay who had me busting a gut. oh my god oh my god yours in glamorous japan and i:m cleaning my bathroom! -- mom it:s clean!! -- mikey, stop bugging me-- ok ok anyways, like oh my god i have so many questions to ask you we haven:t talked in so long but oh my god oh my god!!! hahahaaha, it was so funny! it was great to talk to her. and may i suggest that you people look into some calling cards and give me a ring every so often! it:s really grounding to talk to someone from canada cuz i:m like oh, whoa, ok this isn:t a dream after all, i am actually here!

my kids were elfsational this week. today i have 7 classes in a row so basically i just got to work and i:s like ok, well, i:m taking my lunch break. i come back at one and don:t stop until 8. but it should keep me busy. yesterday my fav class thought *gingerbread man* was the funniest word in the history of the english language. man, they just get me going and i:m right in there just as hyper as they are. we did some colouring of xmas cards and lil finger puppets and pencil toppers. funny how i just get xmas spirit the day of!

yesterday one of my coworker:s hsuband:s brought us a wicked azz strawberry cheesecake and as we sat over cake and talked she was telling me about one of her students, Riho, who is one of my newest students. Riho is... 4 er 5, and just so adorable. i love looking into my kids eyes because they are just so white and filled with wonder. anyways, she told mikako-sensei that she really loves my class and that she thinks that i am just like a princess in a Disney fairy tale (disney is huge over here)! how cute is that? and then- oh my god prepare for a heartmelting story- Riho said *when i grow up I want to be a Danielle.* and asked Mikako when her eyes are going to change to my colour. *my eyes are black now, but when will they turn like Danielle:s? how old do i have to be before they change brown??* ahhh!!! ya know it:s moment:s like those when i realize that i really am making a positive impact in these kids lives despite the fact they can drive me to teh brink of insanity. i got some cute lil prezzies this week too- some candy and a beautiful purple and pink flowered hanky/towel like thing. it:s almost too nice to use!

i:m really trying to... ok scratch that... i:m not trying at all... but this morning as i smoked my indian beanie that Baba, the cook at Purinima gave Louise and I, i thought that i should really try to enjoy the process of getting ready for a vacation. cuz i:m big time stressing over getting everything ready and all good for when i come back. i wanna start the year of the moenkey with a clean clutter free appt. which shouldn:t be too hard cuz my appt is pretty neat and i had a huge purge the other night and got ride of previous teacher:s junk. i mean really, how useful is a friggin glass garlic bulb? it just screams country kitchen to me! and check me into therapy the day i start to think that dusty rose, faded blue, and tiny bears looks good for a decoration. too cluttery for my growing Zen-ness. anyways, yes.. hmm what was i saying... oh yea, the process. i know tonite when i:m packing i:m just going to be like meh, screw this, and end up packing only that which i really need. but rightr now i:m like ooh i need this and this and what if i want to wear this and ooh i need to bring party clothes... ikes!! i HATE packing! i still ahve to buy some cameras, pack, finish laundry, and take out money. the banks are closed for a week during vacation and right now there:s a line of about 15 people waiting to use one of the 7 ATMs at Mizuho... welcome to the holly daze!

i:m going to check out some NY parties on the internet... i hope everyone has a safe holiday and a fun NY that hopefully you will remember and not be completely out of comission on the first. write me write me write me! i:d like to leave you with some words from lil Ezzie Pound;

Be in me as the eternal moods
of the bleak wind, and not
As transient things are—
gaiety of flowers.
Have me in the strong loneliness
of sunless cliffs
And of gray waters.
Let the gods speak softly of us
In days hereafter,
the shadowy flowers of Orcus
Remember thee.
