note to those following my Kanako saga:
Recall last week i had puzzle pieces thrown at me, and was hit about 10 times.... and i almost started to cry. LOL crying b/c of a 4 yr old bully! oh, the humility...
this week she was SO sweet! i know she:s moody so i:m not getting my hopes up for smooth sailing forever. she walked into class and gave me a huge hug and wouldn:t stop hugging me and cuddling up to me the whole class. it was the cutest thing ever, my heart was melting. but melting suspiciously! i was on guard, for any moment she could turn into an evil terror! children are crafty lil creations, that:s a fact! we played a lot of games that involved me picking her up and twirling her around cuz she wouldn:t get off me when we were sitting on the carpet. sometimes i wonder if kids look at me and don:t see me at all, but instead a peach and blue jungle gym. i:m almost sure of it... if there was only some way of testing this hypothesis.. i like playing active games like the twirling because they zap children:s energy so by the end of class they are too tired to be genki and have no choice but to listen to me! (ok did i sound really evil there??)
gad, i just love teaching the teenagers. it:s almost like hanging out. i:m trying to teach them cool sayings, but i have to watch my tendency to get a lil TOO gangstar in that class. LOL. this week they were in hysterics because i was imitating them in their robotic intonation. the topic was asking people out on dates so i kept asking them in they wanted to do stuff but in a robot voice. i was *like ok, do i sound fun here? do you want to hang out with me if i talked like this the whole time? no! ok ok... are you guys humans, or robots... right! so let:s talk like normal human beings here!* they were doing so good with their intonation until they are drilled altogether and they fall right back into it. but we did make a bit of progress and i:m happy with that. i made up this conversation for them to practice, and tried to explain that no one really says See You! but it:s more of a See Ya!

It depends. Why?

No! That sounds lame. Let:s la la la instead.
Great idea! I:ll meet you at 7!

this week i also got to do my robot dance impression in one of my children:s low classes cuz *a robot* was one of our vocab words. sweet! this teaching thing is really pushing me to make fun of myself more and more but in a way that:s really helpful cuz i:m becoming a lot more comfortable with myself.
anyweys, i:m going ot spend my first for real job paycheck! until next time...
