Surrealism Abroad and the Art of Wormhole Maintenance

sweet AS it:s another weekend baby!! this time i get three days off a la national holiday style.
i made two new dangerous discoveries in recent weeks. the first, is Sex in the City. and i:m addicted!! i:ve watched all of season one and now i:m making my way through the second season. it:s just so fun to watch english life in a big glamourous city, even though we all know big cities really aren:t all that glamorous...

i finished my cleanse and i feel unbelievably relieved that i:ve gotten rid off some mad waste. gad i used to eat like crap here. but now i:m back on the health wagon and mark my words I WILL NEVER SMOKE ANOTHER CIGARETTE AS LONG AS I LIVE.  I am too good to be a slave to Philip Morris. not only was i killing myself slowly, i was just buying into this mass consumerism all around me that i try so hard to ignore. sick and disgusting... but oh so tempting when i drink!

my second discovery sits atop my black bookshelf. made of sleek glass, and trimmed with a royal blue with a hint of grey it looks at me longingly from the moment i step into my place. and i have made love to it every night since i got it.

it:s my new blender.

i have become a virtual blending goddess overnight and have taken to making my own rice milk (easiest thing ever! blend a cup of cooked rice with 4 cups of hot/warm water. let it sit for 30, then pop it into another container and refridgerate. it:s great with honey mixed into it), hummus, baba ghanoush, vegan mayonnaise, guacamole, ketchup, and tropical juices. nothing can stop me! it:s taken my condiment addiction to a whole new level... so much for not buying into the hype of material possessions. but this time i think it truly IS making me a better person because it:s encouraging me to make my own food and eat healthier. speaking of eating healthy,  i got a great recipe for bread and you don:t need an oven to make it! i:ll let you know how it goes and if it:s a hit i:ll pass it along to you.

my plans for today are just to run some errands in the sun, and hopefully go to the beach later on tonite for a bonfire with the mates who i haven:t seen since the cleanse. i mean, really, how much of a social life can you have when you don:t eat and don:t drink? even though it didn:t bother me for people to eat around me, i think they felt weird about it. but the whole thing was my choice. oh gad oh gad this is like being born again! i feel WONDERFUL! or maybe i:m just under the spell of my new blender.

tomorrow Taka and i are heading to Onahama (the coastal part of Iwaki) to explore the port. apparently there:s some of Jland:s best seafood there, and a cute lil museum. i seriously need to go to more museums here.. on Tuesday Louise and I are hitting the beach, weather permitting, and then going for an onsen later at night... oh heavenly!
